Catalog Description

This discussion-based, experiential course immerses students in the social sector through engagement with leaders and organizations across Prague, Vienna, and Budapest. Through guest speakers, site visits, and structured reflection, students examine organizational impact, real-world challenges, and strategies for meaningful change.

Alongside these experiences, students participate in a guided vocational exploration process, reflecting on their values, motivations, and sense of purpose. The course emphasizes both understanding what makes social sector work meaningful and developing the ability to cultivate purpose in one’s own life and career. Coursework includes reflective writing, a book analysis, a practitioner interview, and a creative project integrating personal insight with course experiences.
