Doctoral Thesis

PSYC 7000 represents the supervised research hours required to complete your Master of Science in Psychology, fulfilling "Milestone 1a" of your doctoral progression. This course is designed to guide you from your initial entry into the School of Psychology through the successful defense of your Master's thesis. Over the course of these credit hours (9 minimum), you will work closely with your faculty advisor to conceptualize a research topic, form a thesis committee, publicly propose your methodology, execute the study, and defend your final manuscript.

This course provides doctoral students with supervised, hands-on experience in the execution of psychological research. Moving beyond the classroom, students will work directly with faculty to design empirical studies, collect and analyze organizational data, and author academic manuscripts. Tailored to the individual student’s research trajectory, this course fosters the methodological rigor, project management skills, and scientific independence required for a successful career as an Industrial-Organizational psychologist.

Introduction to probability and statistics as applied to psychological data. Tests for means, variances, correlation, ANVOA, and regression. Credit not allowed for both PSYC 2020 and PSYC 6022.
