Catalog Description

An introduction to the fundamental theories and practices that form the foundation of modern large-scale systems and applications, by following the Principle of Conservation of Money (through transaction processing) and the Principle of Conservation of QoS (through horizontal scalability of performance, reliability, and availability). Concomitant with the technical topics, learning of skills at various levels (Basic, Science, and Advanced) will be practiced in a DevOps execution of a semester-long project and illustrated by the technical content of lectures.  

Credit not allowed for both CS4365 and CS6365.
